The Base 20 Lightweight Kids Bike is an Australian-designed geared bike tailored for children aged 5.5 to 8 years (approximately 113 to 130 cm in height). Designed to make the transition to geared riding natural and confidence-inspiring, it features an elongated wheelbase and a low center of gravity that keep young riders balanced and in control.
Weighing just 8.3 kg with pedals, the Base 20 eliminates unnecessary bulk so riders can accelerate, steer, and tackle hills without fatigue. With an intuitive twist shifter, dual hand-operated brakes (no coaster brake), and a freewheel hub, kids learn proper bike-handling fundamentals just like on an adult bicycle.

- Child-Proportional Drivetrain: Features a Prowheel 32T chainwheel with short 115 mm alloy cranks, a narrow Q-factor tailored to hip width, and an integrated double-sided chain guard to keep clothing and fingers protected.
- Lightweight Aluminium Chassis: Constructed from heat-treated 6061 aluminium alloy for both the frame and fork (including alloy steerer), paired with a NECO sealed threadless headset and a sealed cartridge bottom bracket.
- Kenda Small Block Eight Tyres: Fast-rolling 20″ × 1.5″ Kenda tyres on lightweight aluminium rims with rust-resistant stainless steel spokes and brass nipples, providing grip across bitumen, grass, and hard-packed gravel.
- Grows with Your Child: Outfitted with an adjustable-rail kids saddle on a quick-release seatpost, along with a 540 mm wide handlebar that can be rotated or spacer-adjusted to modify reach and stack height.
